We all known Bee Pollen can be beneficial when fighting a flu or hayfever, but there have been research suggesting additional benefits to your immune system. So here at Nelson Honey we’ve created this Bee Pollen Smoothie to help give you an extra boost!
1 Cup Almond Milk (Soy or Coconut can be used)
1/2 Cup Frozen or Fresh Blueberries
1 Whole Frozen or Fresh Banana
Fresh Ginger (to taste)
1 Kale Leaf Thinly Sliced
1 Heaped Tablespoon Nelson Honey Bee Pollen Granules
1 Heaped Tablespoon Nelson Honey Honeydew
Blitz all ingredients together. Garnish with Pollen Granules (because smoothies are better to drink when they’re pretty).
Alright! Here is some more information on bee pollen that I prepared earlier…
Nelson Honey Bee Pollen Granules are collected by honey bees in the South Island of New Zealand and contains vitamins, minerals, amino acids, proteins and carbohydrates. Bee Pollen is often called the only ‘perfectly complete food’ as it contains nearly all nutrients that humans need.
It may be especially beneficial for the extra nutritional and energy needs of athletes and those recovering from illness. It may act as a natural antidote for fighting allergies particulary hayfever and sinusitus. Research shows that pollen counteracts the signs of aging and increases both mental and physical capabilities.
The Bee Pollen used in our granules are pellets harvested from bees and generally sweet in taste. This means they’re a mix of the powdery pollen you will find on flowers and nectar or honey to make it stick together.
Pollen from different flowers can have distinctly different colours and that’s why you will find colour variations between pellets, from yellow to green, red, orange and even purple.
