Philip Cropp, Managing Director

Philip is a third generation beekeeper and the founder of Nelson Honey and Marketing. His passion for bees and the amazing products they make combined with a down-to-earth ‘number 8 wire’ mentality has seen Nelson Honey continue to diversify successfully. Philip’s discovery of the therapeutic effect of increased bee venom in honey led to the development of the Nectar Ease range and later on Royal Nectar skincare.

Anne Berryman, Chief Executive Officer

Anne joined the company in 2016.

Jason Merrylees, Sales Manager

Jason comes from his own Sales and Marketing consultancy business where he has worked with many New Zealand food and beverage companies to develop their brands for export into Australasia. He has lived in many countries through his work with exporting.  He has been based in Singapore, Australia, Taipei, Kyoto and Taipei .  Whilst there he has developed a great understanding of the cultures and opportunities that exist for NZ brands, especially honey related products.

Some of the products Jason has worked with have been organic juice/coffee, fruits/vegetables, skincare, chocolate (Yum!!), lots of FMCG and of course honey.

Jason has moved down from Hawkes Bay and will be based in our Nelson Honey Head Office in Motupiko.  He looks forward to building on the brands  success and working with existing customers to develop an exciting future.

Kevin Boyle, Operations Manager

Kevin joined Nelson Honey in June 2015 and brings with him a wealth of experience in Operations Management. An engineer by trade he doesn’t mind getting his hands dirty and if anything needs fixing around Nelson Honey he’s the one to look after it!

Kevin works closely with our Quality Control Supervisor, Paula, to ensure all of our end products maintain a high level of quality. Paula has been with Nelson Honey for 3 years, 2 of which she spent as our Factory Supervisor. Whilst in that position she developed exceptional skills to assist Nelson Honey in continuing to create high quality products for our customers aswell as bringing many new and innovative ideas to the company.

Terena Roeske, Dispatch Supervisor

Terena is one of our Australian team members, but we don’t hold that against her! She has a BA in Developmental Disabilities and has worked with a wide range of people throughout her working life. She moved to New Zealand with her husband some 6 years ago and joined the Nelson Honey team 3 years later. Initially Terena worked with Marama in the admin department while also looking after our outlet shop, however it didn’t take long for her to move into Sales and Dispatch. Terena is usually the first point of contact for any orders and she makes sure all orders get processed and dispatched as soon as possible.

Marama Quinney, Administration Manager

Marama has been a longtime friend and neighbour of Philip Cropp and his family, here in Motupiko. She is a very busy woman, mother of four children (now grown up), and owner of a kiwi camp ground. As well as that, she keeps a close eye on things at Nelson Honey. Marama looks after our administration and finances. She also manages the compliance aspects of raw bee products arriving at Nelson Honey and the eventual dispatch of finished products to international destinations. Having worked here for nearly 18 years, she is the strong and flexible back-bone of the organisation.
